Financial Aid
Because no one should live on Ramen Noodles. Our Financial Aid office will assist all eligible students in finding the correct financial aid plan, filing all the paperwork and provide a little guidance on money management.
How do I apply for Financial Aid?
- Financial aid for those who qualify available for those who qualify at the St. Petersburg and Tallahassee campuses for the Cosmetology course only.
- A student interested in receiving financial aid will first have to fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form. Students will need a copy of their previous years income tax return in order to fill out the FAFSA. For example, if a student is applying for the 2008-2009 school year, you will need your 2007 income tax return. If the student is considered a dependent student, they will also need their parent’s income tax information for the same year. There are two ways to complete the FAFSA form – online and paper application.
- To fill out a FAFSA online, you would go to www.FAFSA.ed.gov. You will need to apply for a PIN number to sign the FAFSA, which you can do at www.pin.ed.gov. It usually takes 3-5 business days for the FAFSA form to process, at which time you will receive confirmation via email. If the Financial Aid Office has not called you, please feel free to contact them to see what you qualify for.
Important: Before you drop, withdraw or stop attending your classes, you should meet with a financial aid counselor to review the effect that dropping or withdrawing will have on your eligibility for aid.
Annual Scholarship Contest
 Each year we award two full paid scholarships to the most promising new students.
How to apply:
1. Fill out general information form on avedaflorida.com
2. Submit via mail, fax or email a typed essay (300 words or less) about what inspires you about cosmetology or spa therapy and why you want to pursue a career at AVEDA Institute.
3.Create a fashion makeover on a friend or family member, display your work in a fashion show judged by a panel of professionals.

The Angel Fund.
Awarded each year to students who demonstrate both exceptional talent and financial need, the money is provided solely from community employers and those who believe in the prosperity of the beauty industry. Awards range from $500 to $4000.
How to apply:
- Submit a 300 word essay demonstrating your creativity in hair or makeup.
- Provide recent financial information indicating income and sources of income.
